Sherifview Poem: Darkened Dreams

My dreams had darkened
There is anger
There is pain
Let me drink the cup of sorrow
Let me feel the bitter taste
The hurt that still lingers
The wounds that did not heal
I can not do any thing about it
I Just get consumed
In a flash
I wish I vanish
In a flash
I wish I disappear

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi  The Poet of the Tunisia and Egyptian Revolution     At many of the protests in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere people have been chanting the verses of a Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi .   Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust.
