Regrets are part of my life
Things that passed still hurt
I wish things could have been better
I wish I have no regrets
Regrets still are abound
In life you loose control
Often you are driven by emotions
You wish
things you would not do have done
things you have not said
When It comes to mind
It stings
It burns
May be you were not the aggressor
May be you were the victim
May be you did over reacted
May be you were not gracious
Ermotions took control
Revenge drived your actions
Forgiveness and tolerance
All what you now
what you have wished

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi  The Poet of the Tunisia and Egyptian Revolution     At many of the protests in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere people have been chanting the verses of a Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi . During the Tunisian anti-colonial uprising in the early 1900s his poem “The Will to Live” became famous and it is now being repeated. إذَا الشَّعْبُ يَوْماًً أرَادَ الْحَيَـــــــاةَ فَلَا بُــدَّ أن يَسْتَجِيبَ القَــــدَر وَلاَ بُدَّ لِلــــيْلِ أن يَنْجَلِــــــــــي وَلاَ بُـــدَّ للقَيْـــِد أن يَنْكَسِــــر وَمَنْ لَمْ يُعَانِــقْهُ شَوْقُ الْحَيَــاةِ تَبَـــخَّرَ في جـَـوَّهَـا وَانْدَثـَـــر If the people will to live Providence is destined to favorably respond And night is destined to fold And the chains are certain to be broken And he who has not embraced the love of life Will evaporate in its atmosphere and disappear This translation was done by As’ad Abu Khalil.   Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust.
