Moments of Happiness Poem

Would you ever have wished
The moments of happiness will never end
The summer wind breeze never dies
The roses in the garden for ever bloom
The song of happiness in our hearts keeps ringing
Happiness is the crown of our lives
So it happens
it will never last
it would wither away
under the dark skies
when one day is gone
and another day comes
So who knows what it will bring?

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi  The Poet of the Tunisia and Egyptian Revolution     At many of the protests in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere people have been chanting the verses of a Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi .   Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust.
