Thanks for the flowers and red rose


The message reverberates

For the flowers you sent

Everyone tells story

Of happy moments we had

As we walked by the beach

Holding hands together

Exchanging sweet kisses and affection

Getting splashed by the little waves

as they crash and hit the shore

Your red rose for you sent

is a remembrance to keep

For your warms hugs

And lasting joy

When you held me tight

Looking into my eyes

And gazing to the sky

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi  The Poet of the Tunisia and Egyptian Revolution     At many of the protests in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere people have been chanting the verses of a Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi .   Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust.
