A New Year is flashing

It is celebration time

Ring the bells
Blow the whistles
It is the New Year night
Wear colorful hats
Sing a song
Sing together
All join hands
Circle around and dance
It is the New Year night
Watch the fire work display
Blazing and shining the sky
It is the New Year night
Kiss your lovely one a warm kiss
Say goodbye to the passed year
Let’s make the this New Year
Very happy
Happy happy one

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi  The Poet of the Tunisia and Egyptian Revolution     At many of the protests in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere people have been chanting the verses of a Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi .   Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust.
