The human life

A Russian roulette

The day and year you were born

Happy lucky ones

The day and year you exit

In stone are inscribed

How long you live?

In the realm of the unknown

You will not live forever

The eighties and nineties of age

Probably it is over

Most have exited before

Hitting the Jackpot milestone

Marking the one hundred

Great accomplishment

Wearing the centenarian crown

Blowing one hundred candles

Still more

The Guinness World book

You wish

Would you be invigorating

Like the time of youth

Or gasping the thread of life

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi  The Poet of the Tunisia and Egyptian Revolution     At many of the protests in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere people have been chanting the verses of a Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi .   Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust.
