Poem Chartering the Future through the Fog Sherifview @@@

It is long journey of life
wading through blanket of fog

it is misty
it is dark

There are many tracks
many paths

When you pass one cross road
Soon will be another

chartering the way
meet the challenges

be determined
work hard

remove the hurdles
clear the fog

When you reach your objective
Look back

See how much you traveled?
See how the world is clearer now?

I listen to the fog horns blow
As I lie awake at home
The plays I've learned to love so well
The place that I have grown
Many a days I've spent alone
Pondering on which this life I live
And its future that is unknown
Those who try to seek its path
Get lost amongst the mist
And are only shown the way back out
By the horns that guide their ships

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi  The Poet of the Tunisia and Egyptian Revolution     At many of the protests in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere people have been chanting the verses of a Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi .   Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust.
