Poem Love Mystery


Love is a mystery

You know why you love someone?

You may not know if the other loves you too?

If you know the answer

Will it be real love?

Or a passing one?

Love has many reasons

to wonder and explain

Are you sincere, trust worthy and charming?

Physically appealing and handsome?

Rich have money and can provide?

If you loose any of these attributes and materials

Will the love continue?

If misfortunes and afflictions take place

Will love still bind you together?

The future holds the answer

The future will tell it all

As the truth and secret unfold through the fog

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi  The Poet of the Tunisia and Egyptian Revolution     At many of the protests in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere people have been chanting the verses of a Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi .   Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust.
