I love you for million reasons

If I can count one to ten

How can I can count one to million

I sleep at the night

I count one, two, three and four hours

For the day to start and the sun shines

To call you and hear your voice

To count one, two, three, four and even to five

Waiting and dreaming

To meet you and see your face

To touch your hands

for warm hug

and tender embrace

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi  The Poet of the Tunisia and Egyptian Revolution     At many of the protests in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere people have been chanting the verses of a Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi .   Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust.
