Elephant, elephant, elephant
You lovely mighty creature
The children are fond of you
We all love you
Sweetly Adore
You little cute
All the day you are busy
Munching bales of food
You have awesome trunk
one of a kind we admire
We look at it with amuse
You use it for eating and drinking
and for smashing trees
Your tusks are wonder
and a great tool you use
You are a star at circus
You performing great acts
Your earn your wages
With sacks of peanuts
and bundles of sugar canes
History wrote much about you
True or legendary stories
You were warrior
Fearless at wars
In India you are honored
Fancied with ornaments
and they call you
Lord Ganesha

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi  The Poet of the Tunisia and Egyptian Revolution     At many of the protests in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere people have been chanting the verses of a Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi .   Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust.
