I started writing when I was in 4th grade out of a desire to escape reality. So I am not a stickler for rules which means I am not well-versed with the technicalities of poetry.

Technicalities take away the soul in a poem and reduce it to mere words. I rely on metaphors and imagery, in general, something that touches the reader's heart. The things which don't make sense will be dearer to me than the things which do as long as they release a person from mundane realities. 

I am a boundless, unconventional soul. I hope to gift the same to every reader out there.

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi  The Poet of the Tunisia and Egyptian Revolution     At many of the protests in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere people have been chanting the verses of a Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi .   Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust.
