Winter Song Poem by Tptampearce All Poetry

Winters Song

Hilltops bathe in morning sunlight
Wrens ring out their distinct song
Frost melts creating smoky wisps

Copper willow branches glisten
Muffled distant wood pigeons call
Leaves catch shimmers of silver

Nature quivers in a light easterly
Undertones of a warmer season
Quietly murmur as buds appear

Winter Winds

White sunlight dapples through
Silver clouds with sky blue hints
Seagulls soar and swoop carried
By strong gusts of winter winds

Branches bow and sway in time
Meadow grass creates shadows
Dancing and moving rhythmically
Settling when peace is restored

Winter Harvest

Underneath tangerine skyline
Hang plump lemon baubles
From gold harvest apple trees

Vast mistletoe clumps cradle
Mid air within the barren arms
Of the mighty oak and yew

Ripe red holly berries nestle
Amongst glossy deep evergreen
Spiky bushes buried in hedges

Crisp white snowberries flourish
Deep inside woodlands enticing
Wild pheasants from their roost

Midnight Sonata

Muslin muffled full moon
Wrapped in hazy clouds
Orange and yellow hue
Surrounds shining bright

Lone dog star sparkles
Such power and beauty
Air hangs still and frozen
Silence holds the night

Raindrops

Crystalline pearls encrusted
Upon copper bare branches
Of the weeping willow

Intricate spider webs
Brought to life as if stitched
With minute silver beads

Hawthorn berry boughs
Coated with limpid droplets
Poised to silently fall

Clouds

Dappled sunlight
Silver clouds shimmering
Mackerel pearl scales

Twisted lace ribbons
Fine feather flecks of white
Hand painted lines

Within seconds new vista
Land, sea and sky scape
Becoming one

Winter Sunset

Swathes and tints of auburn sunlight
Saturate frozen track marked fields
Wrapped in translucent low lying
Smoky mist covering hillock tops

Skylarks weave and swoop in italic
V skein heading for warmer climes
Creeping higher above the horizon
Almost touching the moons outline

Fieldfares gather ripe hawthorn berries
Alongside Wrens in hardy hedgerows
Nature bedding down for the Winter
In the deep glow of an early sunset

Morning Mist

Early morning mist hangs over the horizon
Keen easterly winds masterfully contort
Surreal tree trunks stand topknots missing
Shadows lie flat on the damp underground

Within moments the murky mist has lifted
Revealing clarity and comforting familiarity
Sunshine breaks through cloud formations
Sky blue patches of optimism become one

irst Frost

Birdsong absent until dawn light breaks through
Crisp white rooftops compliment chimney smoke hue
Skyline is ominous with tree-lined silhouettes
Cast upon hilltops Autumn landscape creates

Bare branches coexist next to plump evergreens
Capturing such beauty of frostbitten scenes
As one season almost leaves to be replaced by Winter
Wrap up, put a log on, as the weather turns bitter
