Dwayne Leon Rankin Poem With Snowflakes Falling Down
Dwayne Leon Rankin
With Snowflakes Falling Down
Hear the winter winds soft sigh
Bringing snow now all around.
Filling up the earth and sky
With snowflakes falling down.
Bringing snow now all around.
Filling up the earth and sky
With snowflakes falling down.
T’is the first snow of the year
Seen on this cold late winter night.
Sent to bring each child cheer
When seen in mornings light.
Seen on this cold late winter night.
Sent to bring each child cheer
When seen in mornings light.
A winter wonderland thus made
For all the world to look and see.
A magic carpet there is laid
Upon each hill and tree.
For all the world to look and see.
A magic carpet there is laid
Upon each hill and tree.
It blankets all where children play
Out in the fields, across the land.
Making all look bright this day,
All made by God’s own hand.
Out in the fields, across the land.
Making all look bright this day,
All made by God’s own hand.
The silence reigns as snowflakes fall
Until the children all come out.
Called into that snowy hall
By all that snow about.
Until the children all come out.
Called into that snowy hall
By all that snow about.
Up onto the hill they run,
Then down that hill, on sleds they race.
It’s now their time to have some fun,
A grin upon their face.
Then down that hill, on sleds they race.
It’s now their time to have some fun,
A grin upon their face.
All day long they play outside
Until the night’s soft dark doth grow
Then all that snow by night doth hide,
As off to bed they go.
Until the night’s soft dark doth grow
Then all that snow by night doth hide,
As off to bed they go.
It’s there they hear the winds soft sigh,
Laying new snow all around.
Filling up the earth and sky
With snowflakes falling down.
Laying new snow all around.
Filling up the earth and sky
With snowflakes falling down.
