Poem the Stars of the Sky by Sherif Monem

At the midst darkness of the nights
 the stars shine brightly in the sky
The dazzling panorama inspires us
It tells the glory of our creator 
of the mysterious universe we live 
Magnificent and beautiful
Enormously large and vast
All invade and capture our souls 
The feeling wonderment and sigh
From time billions years ago
The stars came into being
Through massive explosions
As the scientific story been told
The stars raced through space 
Forming fascinating galaxies
The theater of time has began
fascinating time that passed
A time we have never witnessed
And of future time that will come
We will never comprehend

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi  The Poet of the Tunisia and Egyptian Revolution     At many of the protests in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere people have been chanting the verses of a Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi .   Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust.
