Do you love the red color?


The color of roses and fire


The rose the queen of beauty and fragrance


The fire the destruction and flames


the scorching heat, doom and fear


The red color is an empire


it stirs passion and desire


love and romance


it raises anger


violence and rage


it is color for warning


careful and alert


the red color fruits


are enjoyable and dream


strawberry, raspberry and cherry


the king of all quenching thirst in summer


oh this sugary sweet watermelon


oh oh color red

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi  The Poet of the Tunisia and Egyptian Revolution     At many of the protests in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere people have been chanting the verses of a Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi .   Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust.
