Story of love and temptation

The color of radiant roses

The color of devotion and romance

Your delicate lips are luscious

tender and lovely

Heavenly marveled

They whisper silently

Come taste the pleasure

of the soft petal of roses

the fragrance of flowers and lilies

Oh your beautiful tender lips

Ascending to heavens

Awakening the sweet dreams

Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi  The Poet of the Tunisia and Egyptian Revolution     At many of the protests in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere people have been chanting the verses of a Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi .   Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust.
