Poem UVALDE by Susan Jarvis Bryant

Uvalde I’m struck with news and views today __ As youth and truth lie dead. Words bruise me in a mad melee __ Of mind-marauding dread. I’m stunned by words, too many heard __ To mull and comprehend— Cacophonies of what occurred __ And why we’ve reached this end. Excuses rise like ghostly smoke __ And choke my waning trust. I glimpse a dagger beneath a cloak __ As details are discussed. The buzz and din and gab and spin __ Will bang on all year long, And rectitude will never win __ Unless we hear its song. Its prayer should soar above the howl __ And put our children first— No politics. No playing foul. __ No odious outburst… No feeding on this evil deed— __ Its horror and its pain… No fueling ever present greed __ For glory or for gain. .

Poem The Stars of The Sky by Sherif Monem

At the midst darkness of the nights There are great panorama lights So joyful stars singing in the sky All tell the glory of the creator of the mysterious universe we live Enormous, magnificent and beautiful Like arrows capturing our soul Feeling wonderments and awe From time billions of years ago The stars came into being Through massive explosions Mass, energy and debris In hurry raced through space Mighty galaxies were born The theater of time began At time we have never witnessed And of future time will come we will never comprehend

Poem the Mountain Rose by Sherif Monem

The mountain rose On my way to the mountain I met a lonely rose hiding in the bushes She smiled and said "good morning" I said you are sweet How much wonderful and charming you are She danced and said "come near me" I said how invigorating fragrance you have She said "come touch me my dear" I said 'Oh', how beautiful your touch? She said "hug me, I am lonely" I got closer and bit closer. I picked her from the branch She said "Oh you killed me darling" Her petals dew was her tears I sighed "no, what I have done"? She sighed and faintly said "Do not cry" Wipe your misty eyes dear The lives of us the roses are too short I looked at her with sorrow I kissed her and hugged her Oh' rose, goodbye

You Live on Planet Earth Only Once Poem by Sherif Monem

Our trip on planet earth is short The days pass so quickly Months follow other months like flash years pass after years in a whisper stages of life do not look so long You may not pass through of it all once you are old it is all certain that soon it will be all over How to taste the life? Will it be all joy? Happiness and dreams? What is your goal? Is it necessary to have goal? For most of people it is survival food, shelter and air to breath You do not live alone You have people you love Most intimately may be father or mother Sons or daughters You wish this is true Brothers? Sisters? siblings? Such love may fail some However, this love is shining torch You are afraid to loose and some depart And your heart is filled with sorrow You worry for your own mortality for the seen and unseen You live on planet earth only once You can hear deep in your heart With sad tunes You Live on Planet Earth Only Once

Poem The Magic River Samia Ali Arroyo POST 200

The Magic River     Deep inside the forest of the Elvin King. There flows a magic river from an ancient spring. They say its special waters hold the mystery of youth. And should you take one little drink you’ll know that it’s the truth. The waters all originate from way up in a fountain. That’s hidden very cleverly inside of Elvin Mountain. The extraordinary liquid looks like little diamond chips. Granting youth to everyone with one or two small sips. The river has a secret that is only known to elves. For centuries, the mystery still kept between themselves. They say it is the reason that they live so very long. And that aside from giving youth it also makes them strong. People come to drink the waters from the distant lands. Even from the ocean and the beaches rich with sands. Everyone has tried to guess its power through the years. Little do the people know the river’s strength is tears. For every time a little baby elf begins to cry. They take the little baby te...

Poem The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln

The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln It was brief and short sad moments of time That still flashes and rings in the painful memory of the country Enjoying and his wife the play  "Our American Cousin" And in the midst of the laughter and roar of the audience A southerner John Wilkes Booth full of anchor, rancor and revenge He entered the Lincoln's lounge hitting the president by a bullet It was fatal and landed in the back of the head The assassin jumped from the balcony and injured his leg and outside the theater he fled on a horseback heading to the south Two weeks later he met his end by a single bullet of Sergeant Boston Corbett Hitting him in the head in a burning barn of a Virginia farm The assassination  of Abraham Lincoln added a new wound to a nation whose wounds did not heal yet from long civil war The irony Abraham Lincoln death was at the peak of his triumph A victory marred the end of bruising civil war A nation united again and looking for the...

Sherifview Poem Yesterday

Yesterday will not come again This may bring sorrow and pain Happy moments that you wished have lasted You are not certain what the future will bring There is apprehension You fear there may be agony Sadness and despair The time marches on Slowly but certain Never ever it can be reversed Yesterday is an enigma What it was? Where it is gone? We live in fairy tale The time marches on And takes us in a journey We never know where it will lead?

sherifview poem Thank you for the flowers and roses

Thank you for the flowers and roses The message reverberates For the flowers and roses you sent Everyone tells story of happy moments we spent as we walked down by the beach Holding hand in hand together Exchanging sweet kisses and affection Getting splashed by the little waves as they crash and hit the shore Your red roses you sent they are special remembrance to keep For your warms hugs for the lasting joy When you held me tight on the beach sands Looking into my eyes dreaming and gazing to the sky

Sherifview Poem World Peace

World Peace Have you thought about the world? How the world will look like? When there are no wars and no fights When there will be no pain and no sorrows Problems be solved in cool means There will be justice and no prejudice When the dove of peace will soar When the eagle of wars will fly away The prayers of peace is all what is needed For sake of men, women and mankind Goodbye the old world of War And welcome, welcome the world of peace
